Terms and Conditions
Web site test location
Jacksonville Web Design will make a web site available for the client with hosting to be designated on a development server. This site will be used by the client to check content, design and functionality. The web site will remain at this location until the client has approved, signed off and made final payment for the site.
An initial payment of 25% of the estimated price is required to commence work. Balance of payment must be made to Jacksonville Web Design when the web site is approved and signed-off by the client before delivery will occur. Web Sites are compressed and transferred via FTP but can also be placed on CD-ROM or floppy and mailed.
Jacksonville Web Design takes no liability for any errors in web content. It is the responsibility of the client to certify all content is correct before delivery. All images provided by the client for their web site must be copyright-approved before delivery. Jacksonville Web Design takes no responsibility for the copyright of any supplied images.
It is suggested that all content should be delivered in one package, containing all images, text, captions, etc. This package must contain clear instructions on where the content is to go.
Changes to initial brief
If Jacksonville Web Design feels that any item requested by the client does not fit within the initial brief, the client will be notified immediately. The item will then be either quoted separately, or charged as an extra, at full hourly rates
Corrections and modifications
Once a site has been approved and signed off, all additional corrections and modifications to the site will be charged as extras at full hourly rates.
All Websites designed and tested on PC, UNIX and Macintosh systems to XHTML 1.0 Transitional and CSS 2.0 standards. While these standards should make sites accessible to all standards-compliant browsers and devices, the appearance may differ on older browsers (version 4 and earlier). Content will always be available, regardless of the appearance. Jacksonville Web Design is a strong supporter of the webstandards.org browser upgrade campaign to encourage the use of standards-compliant browsers with predictable output.
Jacksonville Web Design cannot accept responsibility for incompatibility on dated browsers or lack of plug-ins/helper programs if more advanced (non standards-compliant) technology is used.
Search Engine Promotion
Jacksonville Web Design performs web site optimization for selected keywords for search engines and will perform search engine submissions to all major search engines. However, we offer no guarantee of the time between submission and acceptance, or even acceptance at all by any search engine.
Jacksonville Web Design constructs websites using best-practice methods for indexing and listing by search engines and directories and will supply clients with information on submission along with an inventory of the free directories, paid directories, and other paid programs but it is the responsibility of the client to register their site with these programs and directories.
